So me and my gf were watching a movie yesterday called "Safe Haven" and the main woman kept getting beat up by her boyfriend and she ends up moving from Boston to I think Louisiana or something like that.

Anyway it got us thinking about moving away, but without anything lined up. I currently live 15 minutes from the hospital where I was born. I live in the DFW area and move about every year or so just changing apartments. Usually for vacation every year we usually go to the beach for a week, grab a hotel or AirBNB and go sightseeing or what have you. So we were thinking, let's just move there permanently (or at least a few years)

I have been reading articles and most say, have 6 months saved up, have a job lined up, all the "Basics" set up etc. But no first hand experience on what that process is like.

Do we just grab a motel and live there until we find jobs? How would we even get jobs before leaving if we don't live down there? How would we rent an apartment if we don't have the job down there? Could we just show them bank statements? Like, "Look, we have $100k in the bank, we're okay on rent for a year" ?

We have around 2 years of expenses saved up, we're both under 30 and have no kids. We're both burnt out and are looking for something different. We aren't hurting for money at all, we have degrees etc.
