My grandpa’s mail email acct (which he uses for everything) just got hacked recently and I came home from uni for winter break to him in the middle of a 3 hr call with Apple Support system. Apparently there had been someone making charges on his apple account which lead them through an entire maze of finding out that multiple purchases from amazon and target were made, cash was trying to be withdrawn as well as multiple password changes for different accounts that he has like best buy all within the past few days. The lady on the support line helped us and told us not use his AOL email and his credit cards for 24 hrs and if his card companies call, to tell them to cancel the transactions but not the cards (which I don’t get why). How I do help him clean this up?
Edit: He told me he called Apple directly. Don’t know how it lasted into a 3 hour call tho besides that he is hard of hearing and probably asked the lady a billion of times to repeat what she said.
