Hello, I’m a student attending college in the Central Valley and manage a house full of college students. My job every month is to send out utilities bills to the landlords who then compile and send back the utilities distribution.
I’ve always heard from other students about how their bills are much lower (around $50-$70 a month per person ) compared to the usual $100+ per person for the past couple months in my house. This month’s recent bill has totaled up to $400 for electricity alone and has my housemates wondering if this is normal. Combined with the rest of the bills, we have a total of ~$600 due split between all of us at the house.
For those who have lived in a college student house/ or lived in the Central Valley, does the billing sound about right? There are a total of 6 of us who live in the house, sometimes we stay up late to watch TV and study, sometimes we call it early for the night so our electric use from day to day varies.
Excuse my lack of knowledge on this, the cold reality of the world hasn’t really hit us college students yet.
