Hello all -
I just put in an offer with a builder on a new house in WI. Here, we our taxes pay in arrears. Last years property tax was ~$800 on this land and I expect it to shoot up closer to $5/6k after the house is appraised by the city (using our purchase price and mill rate). Can someone help me have a better understanding the new tax payment timeline? Will I start paying the new tax rate right away? or on Jan 1 2020 or the day they assessed it 2020?, or will it be prorated?/What the best way to budget for this, etc? Just looking for a better understanding of the timeline. Thanks!
