I'm a 31-year-old guy with two jobs. I could use a little advice from those more experienced then I.

I graduated college with a Journalism/writing degree and work full-time at an ad firm. I wanted to work as an automotive journalist but I was turned down by every major magazine publication. I'm far from fulfilled in my work currently. I make 35k a year there. I work a second job in a hospital 24-hours a week and handle insurance. I make 15k a year doing that. So 50k a year at 64 hours per week. It can be exhausting.

I work out 6 days a week. My only days off work are every other Saturday and Sunday. I block schedule to help keep me in shape.

Monday: Firm from 8 a.m. - 5

Tuesday: Firm to Hospital 8 a.m. - 11 p.m.

Wednesday: Firm to Hospital 8 a.m. - 11 p.m.

Thursday: Firm to Hospital 8 a.m. - 11 p.m.

Friday: Firm from 8 a.m - 5

Saturday: hospital for 8 hours or off

Sunday: hospital for 8 hours or off

It can really be exhausting as I workout on Wed and Thurs from 11:15 p.m. to 12:15 a.m. and 2 - 3 hours on Fri, Sat, Sun, Mon.

I'm 6k in credit card debt.

My rent is $750

My car is $350 for 2.5 more years

Phone is $130

Insurance is $90

and I only pay $100 for electricity

My credit card payments amount to $200 a month total.

So for the next 6 months I'll be putting $500 a month toward that 6k debt while saving. In 6 months I'll have paid my debt down to 3k. I'll then make a 3k pay off as I'll have 6k saved.

Once my credit card is paid off I'll have 3k in savings.

For years I was in a pretty terrible relationship and a dead-end job. 2 years ago I left, got a new job and a part-time job. I paid off nearly 12k in medical debt and my life is much better. I could have it much worse but going to an office every day and working at that hospital really takes a toll on me.

I feel like I'm sort of wasting away working so much.

I would like to have just one job that pays me as much or more so I could have some time to myself but at this point I think that would require a completely different career field. I was thinking about going into the military next year as I feel like where I'm living (Iowa) is the most boring place on Earth and I could do something I've always wanted to do, serve. I've been slowly working toward my private pilot license by flying an hour or two every weekend in the early morning.

I also really like the idea of going back to school in the medical field. I was thinking dental as it has a good quality of life and decent pay. It would only require 2.5 - 3 years of full time school to be a hygienist. Right now I pay $100 a month for my student loans.

I think I'm just mentally exhausted at the moment and looking for some suggestions or anything helpful for my situation.

Thanks for reading.
