I just got an email with an offer from my credit union:

Use your STCU Debit Mastercard® ending in (number) three times in February to make everyday purchases. Spend a total of $200 or more, and we’ll deposit $10 in your checking account!

At the bottom of the email it mentioned:

You are receiving this email because you have an STCU debit card that you’ve used rarely or not at all.

Currently all I use this debit card for is one small monthly online subscription. Why would the credit union want me to use it more? It's not like a credit card where they could potentially be getting money from interest. Is there any reason why it would be bad to use this debit card only rarely? I'm planning on ignoring this offer and keeping on doing what I have been doing. I'm just a bit mystified about the motivation for this offer.
