I was looking at my bills trying to cut them all down and got stuck on car insurance. I have full coverage on almost paid for '15 Corolla and liability plus on a paid for '06 Altima. I could save $400 a year by switching them all to liability and keeping a 3k beater (saw a 80k, 1 owner, no accident, manual '03 corolla) as backup if its wrecked and my fault. On the other hand the car would be depreciating, I'm assuming requiring yearly registration costs ($110) and possible issues for not being used often. Not having a car is not an option, and buying a car last minute ends up in a terrible deal if I would just switch to liability and hope for the best. Is it worth the trade off?
