Even though I'm upper working class (in Australia) with limited savings*, I am still happy to pay for a cleaner every 6 months, and a by-hand car wash every 12 months, both for $100. Both the apartment and the car get filthy in the meantime, but I just don't think about it, and I don't have to care.

This article reminded me of it:

*Most Australians, even working class, have some level of savings. Our minimum wage is relatively high, our workplace protections are strong, we have what Americans would call single payer healthcare, our student loans are well-regulated, and every employer must make compulsory retirement savings contributions for their employees. Even lower working class Australians can have $10k in the bank and $50k in their retirement fund (accessible after 55 only).
