Hi Everyone,
Been lurking for a bit. I wanted to tell you all about my success story.
I started out moving across the country and going to college on the west coast. I made it through college on a shoe string budget after having to buy a car. Insurance help from the parents but I paid off the car in 5 years.
A friend invited me into a house that was much better than campus living. Started paying 450ish to a max of 715 when I went into the mast room.
I started working in Silicon Valley, but with my education. I still could only find a job as a contractor at the big dogs. And this caused me to suffer some serious financial pains with my commutte, student debt, and living costs.
I managed to keep my bank account with money for the most part but I started looking for ways to save cash.
I started meal prepping, utilizing free foods at work, making sure to put away where I could and I had about 5K put away. Recently though, I got crushed when I was blacked out in Vegas and had to take a personal loan to cover me till I found a new job. Yay.
But I have that new job, but I also became the only lease holder for the house and started renting as the landlord for the others. I have been able to take my rent down to 400$ a month in a giant 5 bedroom 4 bath home. My room has the jacuzzi and marble shower with a deck. My food bills are minimal especially with the discounted grocery stores I still shop and the large cheap veggie meals I can prep with minimal meat to keep me going.
It's been a tough road. And I just wanted folks to know you can do it. I'm now going to start my new life making 6 figures and I finally don't have the worry I've carried since my parents went bankrupt when I was a teenager. Just keep pushing, now how to set yourself up for success and keep moving forward.
You got this folks.
