Or failing that how else would you patch it?Hi I’m new to r/DIY and I’m in the finishing stages of a whole house renovation. My walls are mostly either plastered brick or lathe and plaster (horse hair plaster) as the house was built in approx 1901). I have a few sections where the plaster has been removed to run cables etc and needs patching in many the lathes are intact, in a few some are missing / cut.I think the best option is to use plasterboard thinner than the original plaster cut as close to the shape of the hole as convenient and screwed into the lathes. That should be a medium to plaster over and smooth out. Ideally I’d like a good finish as I’d like to paint.picture of largest patch via /r/DIY http://bit.ly/2CroiMs
