So I was laid off in 2016. I tried two other jobs but they didn't work out. The job I am in now is a good fit for me and I really like the work, but the pay is between $10k-$13k less than I am used to. I refinanced my car so I could keep it. I got rid of the $250 cable package my late husband had. I got rid of the land lines. I stopped getting my groceries delivered. I turn everything off outside of the room I am in to save on electricity. (I do have a college aged son who lives with me). Although I have an amount of money taken out of my paycheck sent to my Credit Union account to pay for my property taxes, I don't know what else I can cut or how to cut to have a savings account for emergencies or just to have for the future. Any suggestions?

Edit: Okay, I've seen a lot of great info one this thread. I won't charge my son rent for two reasons; he is in his first year of college so it's hard to work and go to school if you have been given everything as long as your grades were good. I can make ends meet, I can pay all my bills, I cannot pay for my extravagances that I used to enjoy with my previous job. I'm looking to cut costs wherever available, but I don't want to charge my son rent YET. He's about to start his second semester of college and moved from a $10k a semester college to a $1k a year community college to get his associates first since he knew the $10k was a strain on my savings. We help each other, we have a good relationship, I will do what I can to help him. He does what he can to help me.
