I’ve had some unexpected expenses this year that have started to put strain on me financially. I’ve toyed with the idea of participating in focus groups as a way to supplement my income for a while now, but haven’t ever taken the plunge, mostly because I’m nervous to blindly sign up on some website found via google search and end up giving all my info to a scam operation.
Does anyone here have experience participating in focus groups in the United States? If so, what websites or companies did you sign up with? Did you find the experience worth your time? Based on what I’ve read online, sessions are typically 2 hours and pay ranges from $50-$200. On face value, it seems like this would be an easy way to make a few extra bucks, but I’d like to hear some first hand feedback from someone who’s actually done them.
