A checking account was opened in my name, but for whatever reason, activity stopped several years ago and the bank contacted me through the mail recently. I had reported this acct to the credit system 3 yrs ago, that it wasn't my account, I thought that took care of the issue but it didn't. The account has my name, birthdate, and social security number, but the address and everything else was wrong. All the bank info has been updated, after many steps first to confirm the whole thing wasn't a scam and that I am me to the bank. Anyone have any pertinent information to share?
