Backstory:
Im 18 and living with just my dad, i have a younger sister who he has visitation rights with and is here over the summer. Ive done one semester at a community college but right now it’s summer. I’m just completing my basics here then I plan on transferring to major in Computer science. Also my grandparents are willing to pay tuition so that’s something I’m not worried about. I’m working 30 hours a week at a gelato shop making $9hr but we get shared tips so it comes out to being 11-12 depending on the days worked. I’m trying to work with my friend doing 32 hours a week making $13-$15 hr depending on sales but that opportunity isn’t set in stone. I have a 2016 Ford Fiesta that my dad bought when my first car broke down that he is making payments for. The problems with that is the payment is $300/month and he wants me to take over the payments at first I was willing to pay it then a few weeks later he told me I needed to start paying for my insurance too, that’s another $200 so in total I would be paying $500/month. Last night he sent me the link to get the billing information for my phone changed into my name, (I don’t know how much that’s going to cost so I’ll update this when I find out in the morning) he also told me if I’m not willing to do everything he’s asking for I need to move out.
Right now I’m really overwhelmed and scared, I really don’t know what I’m doing and I will take any advice I could get. At this point I’d rather move out.
What can I do now to be more frugal
