So, i am not sure where to post this. But here goes.

I was looking through the schedule binder at work this morning. I work a retail job and I opened the store by myself. In the schedule in a few weeks time there’s a sticky note that says the date that I will turn in my key to the district manager. This is extremely disconcerting and does not look good. There is no reason I’d turn in my key unless I was being termed.

I have another job right now at a golf course driving a beverage cart. It is a tipped position and I make okay money. I can ask for more hours there while I look for another second job. Before this situation I had two secure part time jobs. I live in an area where housing is expensive. I will be paying $500 for rent very soon and I’m saving up for an apartment deposit, altogether $750. Im very stressed because I need the hours this job gives me.

I don’t know why I’m being fired. I’ve watched them term people for what appears to be no reason before. This company is pretty unethical in its business and social practices, plays favorites, and management is pretty corrupt. I think someone decided they didn’t like me somewhere up the lines maybe and it’s just coming back down the pipes to bite me in the ass. Either way, I don’t think they plan on giving me notice or reason, based on the way they’ve fired others and the way they appear to be handling it now. I’m pretty nervous.

The question is- do I walk out before they fire me? Quit? Not show up for my last shift when I know I’ll be let go? I don’t know if it’s better to quit or let them fire me. I’m certain I could get another job very easily and quickly.

Thank you reddit
