So me and my girlfriend are getting married next year. We're going to hold the ceremony in a villa on the Spanish island of Tenerife. The rental company we are going to rent the villa from, are asking us to pay a deposit of 50% of the rent for the villa up front.

Besides renting us the villa, they will also supply us with a number of services, like decorations, musical equipment, etc.

As the wedding is planned for May 2019 I am worried something might happen to the rental company in the meantime, which could result in us losing our deposit.

I looked into the insurance you get when paying with credit card but bankruptcy of the rental company is not covered by that insurance.

I also looked into "Wedding Insurance", but bankruptcy is also not covered.

There isn't any indication I should be worried about the rental company, but as the deposit is for a lot of money I want to make sure I have considered all the available options. Do you guys have any advice?

(I really hope this is the right subreddit to post these kind of questions, if I'm in the wrong place: I'm sorry, please direct me to the right place.)
