(Posted this in advice and was told to come here too!) I found out today through a conversation that a new colleague of mine is earning £2000 more than I am despite starting in a Junior role and only has 6 months of work experience.
I have been working for my company for almost 4 years, and have two more qualifications than this person so I’m obviously upset.
I got a meeting prompt from my manager a few minutes ago and it’s about this subject (another colleague heard us talking and let said manager know).
I’m shaking like a leaf as I’m terrible with confrontation but also it’s ridiculous that I’m on less pay than a newbie. I want to be able to fight my own corner but I’m also very timid - what advice could you give me (the meeting is in three hours)?
