Total cost of leasing and buying out the lease is 3000 less than straight up purchase price. What am I missing?

I am looking at a new vehicle, and when I do the math the monthly lease payment plus the backend buy out total about $3,000 less than the upfront purchase price.

Seems like a no-brainer: get to walk away from a lemon if I am not satisfied and have a lower monthly payment. Too good to be true...
