I had a fight with my boyfriend and afterwords I was just feeling too overwhelmed with everything. I'm prone to impulsiveness during states of heightened emotions, so I deactivated fb, IG, and deleted both those plus the snapchat app (since you can't deactivate it). It's been 3 days and while I feel like there is a whole world I'm not apart of, it doesn't feel bad. No one has really noticed, and the one good friend I told still let me know about a plant sale I might be interested in going to that they found on fb.

I kept reddit and twitter since I don't really include reddit as the typical social media. Really we're just a bunch of strangers looking at cats, and twitter is not something I've ever really cared about but it's nice having a place to put dumb thoughts without worry of feedback and that endorphin release when it's interacted with.

Previously I tried to take a break from fb but since it wasn't my idea, it was pushed on me, it didn't take and it made me really anxious. I think since this was my doing, I feel more at peace with the decision.

Edit: I suppose a better title would have been "Impulsively deactivated most of my social media. Turns out it was for the better." or something.
