As the title says, I was rear ended this morning when a driver veered into my lane and hit me.
The driver kept going and thankfully the police were able to catch her. Whether she stopped later down the road or they had to actually pull her over im not sure. But she definitely left the scene of the accident. The police later told me that she thought that she had hit the median despite the fact that I was in the far right lane and she was in the 2nd from the right lane.
My question is, what can I expect to happen at this point? Ive got a case number from the police and they called a tower to tow my car to the lot and store it while the insurance does their thing.
Obviously im not at fault and she left the scene. Does that make her/her insurance 100% liable for the accident? Should I be expecting to potentially have a payout for the value of my vehicle? How do I make sure that I get compensated properly for damages to my vehicle?
