Thanks for helping me out here!

I just joined a team of volunteers that works with animals in crisis situations (e.g. law enforcement situations with dogfighting rings, natural disasters), and will likely be assisting veterinarians, moving heavy boxes and carriers, handling large and potentially aggressive animals, and maintaining emergency animal shelters (cleaning, feeding, possibly socializing with the animals).

Do you have advice on clothing and general equipment I should bring with me on deployments? I'm thinking about clothing —including shoes — that's protective against both the elements and punctures/tears, and that I wouldn't mind getting dirty from grime and waste and can wash/maintain easily. I've also been told to bring a flashlight and multitool, but I'm not sure how complex of a multitool I'll need.

My budget is $200 for tools/gear/equipment and $500 (could go higher if you think it's worthwhile) for clothes/shoes. I do already have relatively everyday clothes (t-shirts, sweaters, polo shirts, button downs, jeans, khakis, sneakers) that I wear to my day job.

Thank you!
