I'm currently a student in Germany. I don't have any money issues, I was just wondering if I could maybe save some money. At the moment I eat my warm lunch out every day at the university cafeteria. The food is diverse and not bad. The prices for students range between 1,50€ up to 3,00€, which I find quite cheap - I use about 12-15€ a week for lunch, totalling ~70€ per month.
Now I've considered cooking at home, but I was wondering if it would actually be worth it. I would have to invest the time to cook, clean dishes every day and of course buy a lot more at the grocery store. And the cafeteria offers things like meat, which are kind of expensive at the store.
Would cooking at home save me money? And what are the pros and cons of doing it?
