My income went up from $600-$900 a month to $1000-$2000 a month, but I'm still living paycheck to paycheck. How did you take control of your finances?

I am 18 y/o and I work for a company that gives me a base hourly pay plus commission.

-My tuition is $2000/semester, which is about $500 for 4 months.

-Gas: $160/month

-Food: $280/month

-Car Insurance: $102/month

-Gym: $35/month

-CC: Owe $631 Discover @15%; Owe $935 Citibank 0% APR 21 months (ends 2019) Limit = $2200+$3000=$5200

-Misc.: $150

The problem is, I don't know exactly how much I will earn every month. Also, I do not know how to take control of finances; I often spend uncontrollably as you can see by what I owe on my CC's. How did you take control of your finances?
