I am looking for advice on venting a kitchen sink drain in The Money Pit. It was vented to the attic before the windows, and I am torn between using an air admittance valve in the cavity where the drain will go (photo 2) versus routing a 2" vent through all those 2x4s and out the top plate (photo 3). Once I get to the attic, I have no qualms about venting through the roof - I'm just trying to determine if it's worth losing the structural integrity to gain the extra air from an external vent.Second, related question: if I do the roof vent, it would have to cross an electrical wire perpendicularly (photo 4) - how do I do that to code?4' level for scale. via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2xYBec5
