I'm attempting to build a simple cabinet/box for my consumer unit, and elextricity meter in my house. The measurments are 76cm wide, 46 cm tall, 18 cm deep. I plan on making a subframe for it, which i will screw into the wall, and then tack and glue thin mdf board onto the faces, for painting and finishing. This doesnt need to be a work of art, nor do i want it to be a monstrosity. Once i have the subframe fashioned and it fits well around the box, i plan to uscrew it, panel its sides and remount to the wall. I'm thinking hinged door, undecided on one or two at the moment. Will depend on how square the frame is.I'm not a carpenter by any stretch, but savvy enough to attempt this. I just wanted to ask if anyone has made anything similar and if they had any tips, pitfalls, solutions. I'm hoping to get this made today, subframe at the very least, as a first crack at a bit of carpentry, any nuggets of advice would be great. via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2EhbXOl
