I discovered peak electricity where I am is 5 times as expensive as outside peak times (6am-9am and 5pm-10pm).
I have a bunch of things that run off of timed and wemo wifi switches that were running on schedules dusk-dawn with iftttt.com and wemo schedules. Switched them to not run during peak times.
I almost had it working to turn the fountain we have to turn off during rain and when we aren't home using Life360 and ifttt but it wasn't quite reliable enough, and the binary on/off signals break when you want something like "turn off if it's raining and daylight" but ifttt only does "if its raining or not"...
