Sanded original finish all the way down to bare wood with 220 grit. Used minwax conditioner and penetrating stain. I tried applying multiple coats of stain but the wood didn't want to absorb more than the first stain I put down. Did a test with 100 grit and restained but the result was the same. It just looks uneven. Not sure if it's because the wood slabs absorb the stain differently or I need to try a different product. Help please!! Photo in comments via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2xIjhPU
