I'm living in the Netherlands and at the end of the month I will be moving into my new appartment. Unfortunately the place doesn't come with appropriate flooring. The place is about 50m2, devided into a 35-ish m2 living area and a 15 m2 bedroom. The bedroom currently has a concrete floor which has to be covered. The living room has, what I guess, a vinyl floor that isn't looking too well. (Lots of dents and some damage). Now, since I'm probably going to live at this place for about 4 years I want to make it look cozy. I have seen that a nice floor can make all the difference, so I am curious what my options are. Many opt for laminate, which is widely available but personally I find this to be very inauthentic. In my view it just lacks some kind of character. Given my limited budget I understand that I do not have much to choose, so if, in the end, I have choose laminate I would be perfectly content with that. But I am here to ask if I have any other possibilities.I found this project which I really liked: http://ift.tt/2xdkNb9 , but some people commented that this type of floor wouldn't be durable.I do not have any experience in laying a floor, but I think I could be a quick learner. All ideas are welcome, especially ones that are a bit out-of-the-box. via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2yiEZqK
