I have a gas powered water heater with an electronic valve. After finding out we had no hot water, I saw that the pilot light was out. After following instructions to re-light the pilot, I noticed the pilot light would cut out as soon as I let go of the button-dial even though the status light would blink. AFAIK, that light indicates that the thermostat is getting enough power from the thermopile. My multimeter reads upwards of 500mV from the thermopile when heated by the pilot after a minute (while keeping the button-dial depressed), so I'm guessing my thermopile is fine. The LED status light shows two flashes and a three second pause, meaning "Weak pilot flame detected. System will reset when pilot light is sufficient." How can I check this?Other troubleshooting measures I've taken were vacuuming out the screen and cleaning the burner and sanding down the thermopile lead. Am I missing anything? via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2eQYaQ6
