Let me head off the "Not going to a restaurant at all is the cheapest" to start. Please hear me out!
I am the head coach for a school group and our competitions take place several hours from home. They last several days and the days are long, we get to the arena at 7am and leave at 8pm.
The kids (and I) need a break from concession stand/fast food by the end. So, eating at a restaurant towards the end of our competitions is a nice treat, the kids work very hard and deserve it. But, I am on a budget and do try to be conscious about not over spending.
This is where I could use some advice. What are the most reasonably priced restaurants that can handle big groups of people?
