My friend is getting married next February in Hawaii. As I mentioned, I can afford it, but it would set be pretty far back from what are heard it would cost. Someone estimated to me $5,000. Even though this would be doable for me, I would not go as a thousand dollars a day is not very frugal, even if it's in Hawaii.

What can I do to reduce the cost of this trip? I will have friends to bunk with if I go. Do resorts let you go in and out freely if we decide to stay Stan AirBnB? Should I get a credit card for flight points? Anything would help.
