Likely getting a job with SpaceX in the coming weeks. Which means relocating from Michigan to California. I rent a house with a friend so in addition to boxes of clothes amd some odds and ends I have a nice hide-a-bed couch, coffee table, queen bed, night stand, etc. I dont think I'll be able to successfully sell everything before I leave, and even if I did I still wouldnt be able to fit whats left in my car. So if I have to hire a mover or rent a truck I might as well bring everything. Its nice furniture too, so Id like to keep it anyways. SpaceX will pay $5k to move me, but after taxes it's more like $3500. This money also has to pay for first months rent and security deposit when I gey to California. PODs quoted me about $1900 total for a small container and up to one month of storage, which doesnt really leave me a lot for rent, etc.
Does anyone have any suggestions or know of any moving services that are cheaper?
