I put in some cheap blinds that I got at home depot... they were under $5 each and they are ok but I am concerned about privacy. I have two double windows that have about a 4 inch gap between the blinds and you can basically look right into the house if you were outside the window.... and also blinds kinda suck for privacy.. i have seen spy camera images of blinds if you catch them at the correct angle its basically like you have no blinds unless they are the accordion blinds that are paper and fabric that will get dirty real quick.
In the bedrooms I have some shear type curtains that do ok. I am guessing they obscure the view at night into the place when I have lights on.. but I need some for the kitchen and I probably should replace them all because they are a bit worn and have some spots.
Budget is a concern and I am not considering the thought that you buy expensive stuff once and they last forever I just want something that looks nice and obscures the view of my neighbors and nutjobs of which there are a few around here.
Also we get a lot of sun but I am not looking for blackout blinds..
I am a guy but I do have a used sewing machine and could probably hit a fabric store maybe .. although I probably can't sew a 50 inch line straight heh.
