I find it easier to be frugal in the spring and summer, for a number of reasons.
The weather is nice, so I can walk or bike most places. I also find I have more energy during these seasons because of the natural daylight, so I'm more motivated to achieve my goals.
There are a lot of fun and free things to do in the summer, so I don't need to spend a lot of money there. And I'm less likely to buy takeout out of sheer depression. I even have less laundry to do because shorts take up less space than pants and there's no sweaters!
I realize this could be the opposite of some people's experience. Maybe you find it hard to resist a summer patio, or maybe it costs more to air condition your house than to heat it.
What's your experience?
