So I wanted to get this sub's opinion on something I tried for the first time today. I don't think there's a specific name for this methodology but if there is please let me know.
Here's the gist of it:
- Went to Red Robin (they are very high on their prices but offer all you can eat fries)
- Had a $4 off coupon for meals over $10
- Got their breakfast burger that came with the bottomless fries
- Ate a whack load of fries and drank a ton of soda (the American way amirite)
- Didn't eat the burger, got to-go fries and a to-go soda, and walked out of there stuffed out of my mind with a sizable amount of food for another meal
- The bill came out to $9 and change
To be fair, it's not as frugal as it could be because 1) it's Red Robin and 2) I got soda, but this principle could easily be applied to other places that offer some variation of 'bottomless' food. Wanted to see what the general opinion on this is. What do you guys think - is that type of practice frugal or just plain cheap?
