Bit of a problem. I recently have been saving up some money and decided to just go ahead and pay off the entirety of my credit card balance last Thursday after making some large payments on it for furniture and such last month. However, when I checked my account on Friday, I noticed that while the money was gone from my checking and pending on my credit card, I also had an automatic payment to my credit card for the amount owed, which was more than I had in my checking account, however the money was not gone from my checking account yet. As of this morning, both payments finally processed it seems, and I am now running a balance on my credit card of over a thousand dollars in the negative, and my checking account is at $0. Further more, there is a line listed on my checking account which says: "01/23/17 ADVANCE FROM OVERDRAFT PROTECTION ACCT $195.28", not sure where that money is even coming from.
On my credit card my manual payment is listed on the same day, but after my automatic payment, yet the day I made my manual payment there was no automatic payment made yet, as I simply hit the button to pay the total balance which should have been 0 if the automatic payment was made first.
So, questions, am I going to owe any money for this overdraft issue? And is there any recourse for me to get the automatic or the manual payment reversed, as I would like to not be completely broke for the next two weeks? Also, should I contact them through the phone or go into a local branch?
Thanks for your time
