My Gf and I are getting married soon. I am in a position where a Backdoor Roth won’t work for me due income and a significant IRA position which I don’t want to pay pro rata taxes. My GF has a very small Roth IRA now. Once we are married our income will be over the threshold for IRA. Can she/we still contribute to her Roth or traditional IRA and do a backdoor with that or would we have to pay pro rata on both her and my IRAs? Can we do Backdoor every year or will we then have to pay taxes on what is then in the IRA? This hurts my head. I think I may get a nosebleed. Any input is appreciated. Thanks
