Disclaimer : I know nothing about investing... so excuse my ignorance.

I am 27 years old. I make 70-85k a year, I already contribute the max employee match in my 401k (at 4%). I contributed another 6% of my paycheck to a ROTH Ira.

I've got some savings left over (more than the 6 month "emergency fund" many people recommend. I'm looking to take 10-15k of that and invest in something.

I looked at Wealthfront and other robo-investing apps.... almost opened an account until I read folks on this website advise against it.

I'd like some advice on what strategy to pursue. I dont want to invest in another retirement account, as I'd like to have access to this money if i need it. I also already have a 401k and Roth IRA from my employer.

Can i invest in a Van Guard Target Fund (like the one my 401k) is positioned in... without having a retirement fund? i.e I like the returns im getting on my retirement fund so far.
