In mid November, I decided to not spend anything on myself till January.
I still allowed myself to buy for others but no more thrift shopping sprees and bakery trips and grocery store splurges. Some takeaways are
-
No need to buy sugary treats. The treats will come to you
-
My husband will actually buy for himself if he feels I am happy and the money is there.
-I often shop to change my feelings. I often shop out of boredom or loneliness but there are better ways to deal with that!
-
Christmas was a success. There was more money to buy decorations and presents.
-
Little buys add up to big money over time.
-
Saving money is primarily about sacrificing your temporary wants and only focusing on your needs.
