As a family, we have never felt the need to buy gifts because you're 'supposed' to. My kids get gifts for birthdays and all that, but never anything massive and over the top. I told my husband last week that we should do a thrifted gift Christmas and he loved it.
I got him a VW sign he saw last month in a secondhand shop window that he loved, I've had my eye on 2 vintage lace tablecloths from the same store that I'm sure he got me. And our kids have a nice assortment of toys, my 2yo got a tricycle that is in amazing condition, my son got a complete Hot Wheels track among other things. It cost us a fraction of what last Christmas did and I'm SO MUCH EXCITED this year!! Happy Holidays all you frugal people!!!
