My school age kids and I are newly homeless working on trying to get a place so Christmas just isn't a priority rn $$ wise! We just need the funds elsewhere. I'm hoping I can find an organization still offering help for the holidays but this was late and sudden so I'm not sure I will. The thing is, aside from maybe one year I don't remember one single thing I received, but do remember having family activities and the closeness and fun of doing certain things. My folks are long gone and I'm drawing a blank. What do y'all do to celebrate? Any free or cheap traditions or activities; recipes? I would like to transform this into a day of Thanksgiving basically, celebrating our survival and celebrating that we are together and just living and loving! The things that matter the most deserve the focus especially this year. I have amazing kids and know they'd love some cheesy or fun ideas! Thanks in advance!
For the sake of full disclosure I am cross posting on the poverty finance sub as well for a wider range! I can't wait to see these answers 💜
