My sister passed away unexpectedly and our family really has no financial resources for this and there were no insurance policies of any kind. She wanted to be cremated so luckily that is the least expensive option, and we are thinking we will just do a memorial service. Her son passed away in 2005 and he never had a headstone, so we are also hoping to get a headstone finally for the both of them. We did set up a GoFundMe page and my friends have been very generous, but it won't cover most of the cost. Any recommendations for how to do the cremation or the headstone in the most frugal way? I'm handling everything for my family and am a little overwhelmed with everything so I thought if I could cut out some time researching myself by just asking people who may have already gone through it, it would help a lot. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
