I’m a first time, stay-at-home mom and I’ve been contemplating going back to work, but then I ran the numbers and it is way more cost-effective for me to stay home.
Estimated cost per year:
2nd Car : $6500 Car Insurance: $1000 Gas: $600 Maintenance: $1000 Childcare: $20,800 Health Insurance: $6600 Work Clothes: $500
Total: $37,000
And there goes my salary! Looks like my job is clearly at home finding ways to save money instead of bringing it in. Anyone else in a similar predicament?
