You can use newspaper as wrapping paper, for crafts, etc., without getting inky hands.
Run your iron over newspaper articles, funny pages, front page etc. for a few seconds on the lowest setting. Roll it up if you won't use right away to keep it crease-free.
Note: You can put parchment over the paper before ironing if you like, but I never do.
