I apologize if this isn't the right sub for this. My mother-in-law is in her 50s, doesn't work, has 0 income and we believe she might have Parkinson's. Unless I'm not understanding medicaid or Disability benefits, you need a diagnosis first before you can qualify. She doesn't have this. She doesn't have the money for this. We don't have the money for this. How can she get the tests and diagnosis she needs? We've considered claiming her as a dependent and getting her on our insurance but she has food stamps and that lowers our contribution percentage too much. Any advice on where to start would be much appreciated.
