Alright, this one is going to be a bit hardcore for anyone and this IS NOT a recommendation, but ik some people on this page may be looking for advice not only to save a penny or be more self reliant, but to survive. To those who arent in dire straights, there is a tip for you too. So that said:

We all know we can get precooked chickens at the market for like $3-4, however, if you are in dire need to stretch that chicken, you can keep the bones and bits and use a stock pot or pressure cooker to make stock.

Keep in mind that most of the flavor is in the uncooked meat and bones of the chicken, but with this tip, you can at least get a chicken stock for approximately $0.15 a quart. This can pull some vital calories out of what would normally be thrown away.

For those not needing this tip for survival, this stock is great to boost the nutrition in the food of your pet. My dog requires extra calories so in addition to his dogfood, i add beans, rice, and carrots that have been cooked using this Frugal Stock(tm patent pending).
