Hello Reddit,

I'm a 30 year old female living in Canada and I need help, advice, guidance, etc to try to get back on track financially so I don't have to file for bankruptcy.

I currently have $24,000 left to pay on my student loan. I owe $12,500 on my line of credit, and $4300 on my visa. I owe about $2000 to my dad for helping me move from NB to SK, and $300 to a friend who bailed me out on overdue CC/LOC payments.

My rent and utilities is about $800 a month and moving is not an option. I pay about $100 in gas for my car, and my current insurance is $184 a month but will likely be lowered once I change my plates and insurance over from NB to SK. I just started working a good paying job a month ago and will have a monthly net pay of about $3400.

I am just looking for help with what my options would be besides bankruptcy. I am currently behind on payments for my student loan from being unemployed so I can't apply for repayment assistance until that's caught up. My CC and LOC aren't behind on payments but the minimum payments are over $100 for both.

My dad and my friend have both told me there's no rush to pay them back, but I want to at least toss them a bit of money each pay.

I've written out budgets that seem reasonable before, but can never stick to them. I always overspend on groceries and STUFF. Walmart is my kryptonite. I am very impulsive due to some mental health issues and have tried to control it but I can't seem to be able to on my own.

Any and all advice would be appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to read this and for responding.
