So my wife and I just moved back home after I got out of the military. We racked up some minor credit card debt (Less than $2500). And my wife has some medical stuff to pay (less than $300). In an effort to take back our financial freedom we want to pay this stuff off. I get payed weekly and realised we were spending a lot of cash on fun/personal things but not doing a great job of paying things down. So I took half of what we spend on average in a week (So $50 a week is half) and instead of using that half to just spend it going straight toward debt. Plus she gets payed bi-weekly and is going to be making small payments of her own ($25-50) toward our debt. I know I'll get flak for not cutting out every non-essential but I figure this way we can still go out once and week and do something or have some money to do things with friends on a Saturday. Wish us luck!!
