Hey all,

This is another one of those warning posts to be vigilant and hyper aware with each job offer you get. I just got one that immediately reminded me of a post from earlier this month and I am glad I read that post, as I would have been suspicious about this job, but with that post I knew immediately this was a scam.

I applied for this job through LinkedIn. It was a healthcare company called ucare, which has several reviews on Glassdoor, a fair amount of reviews on Google, and their own website that looks pretty legitimate. I got an email yesterday telling me to contact them through Google Hangouts for an interview. I thought that was fishy, but obliged. I sent a message to no response. I followed up the email to no response. I let it be until this morning at 630 AM I had received this:

"Hello how are you doing ? Welcome to the interview session via google hangout courtesy of UCare Health, Inc."

I respond a couple hours later as I wasn't exactly awake at this time, let alone ready for an interview, and am immediately replied to with the same exact message.

Skipping ahead, I do the interview and am told they will send the answers off to the hiring board and will get back to me. They then said to 'stand by' as this will only take 25 minutes.

25 minutes later I am hired! I am now a member of the team. Great! I am going to be making $40/hr at home working 10-30 hours a week. Sounds way too good to be true just from that sentence alone.

But here is where the scam comes up. They require a certain setup for a home office. They sent a very long list of the things I would need to buy to fit into their system including a new Macbook Pro laptop with touchbar, printer, fax machine, etc. I said this was a bit overwhelming. Of course, they follow up saying they would send a check or direct deposit an amount that would cover all of these expenses and then we could get to training.

Yeah, no thank you. I am out. Be careful out there guys and gals. All of the prescreening things looked good for this opportunity, and maybe they are illegally using this company's name to scam people, but it seemed off. And hey, maybe this is how these people actually do business, I am just not going to take that risk.
