Me and my gf are trying to move in together and we are looking to rent either a house or an apartment. After looking at all the available options it turns out renting a house would be much cheaper for us.

We are in the DFW area. A 1 bedroom apartment is $950 plus utilities (water, electricity, trash, internet, cable etc). A 3 bedroom house is only $950 including utilities (water, electricity) we still have to pay for internet and cable though. But the security deposit on the house is significant higher that that of the apartment. For the apartment the deposit is between $200-400, and for the house it's $900. Still a good deal in my opinion

The deal on the house seems like it's took good to be true. I want to know if there are any hidden fees or any catch that we are missing. What's your opinion /r/personalfinance?
